From the Pastor’s desk

The bible records historically that there came a time during the life of Haggai the prophet when God purposed to rebuild His temple.

And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God
— Haggai 1:14

I pray and trust that it is by the Spirit of God that we have been moved to re-establish a work of His hands.  May God put His Spirit upon us to walk in that which He has ordained.

Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts: 5 According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.
— Haggai 2:4-5

God’s very first blessing upon humankind was a decree to be fruitful and multiply. May God impart life to us by His very ruach breath decreeing strength for us to function in our call without fear. I invite you to consider in the preceding verses the possibility that this was not just an exhortation but rather a decree of God to be strong and to work and to be fearless.  At this time and in this season I pray that God would decree such life over us and the church as we launch into this next leg of our journey.  Please join us on Saturday as we meet in His Presence.
