There are different kinds of unbelief, there is unbelief because of ignorance, as in 1 Timothy 1:12-13. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. There are times we think we are right when we are wrong, other times we thought we were headed down the right path only to realize we were moving away from God’s perfect will for our lives.

This is another kind of unbelief we will call it being unpersuadable. Hebrews 4:9-11 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. This is the kind of unbelief where the truth is known but the individual cannot be persuaded to do it.

The kind of unbelief we are focusing on today is unbelief caused by strife. All unbelief is dangerous, but this kind can shut down the entire process of growth in your life. You can possess gifts, talent, and even resources, and still underachieve.

In the case of the Apostles in the bible, Jesus had given them authority over the enemy, but because they were preoccupied with who was the greatest, that preoccupation drove a wedge between them, and because of it they were impotent in the face of Satanic opposition.

Your little baby could be running a high fever, or you could need additional finances because of an emergency, the faith that it takes for both of those situations will not be in operation, because faith works by love.

Matthew 17:17-20 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil, and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 

Sometimes we can strain at a Nat and swallow a camel, sometimes we can win a war at the expense of the entire battle. Look at the disciple, the whole point of their spiritual call was to help people, not gain position. For us to carry out ministry successfully we must have the attitude that John (the one that baptized Jesus had) I must decrease, and he must increase.

The love of God will help us regardless of the kind of unbelief we face, His love will keep us pure and informed, so we do not continue down an ill-advised path. This love when given place to, will give revelation when we are ignorant because His word is a light to our path. This love will in the face of unbelief, keep our marriages, our ministries our homes together because a house divided will fall.
