Our Covenant Keeping God

Willie Browning

His Overwhelming Desire To Give

There are three types of Believers, one who does not know their rights in God, therefore unable to partake of their Covenant benefits. For example, a Christian who does not know they can be filled with the Spirit, speaking with other tongues. Then there is the Believer who knows their rights but is not taking advantage of them, as in Isaiah 28:11-12 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. (Referring to speaking with other Tongues.)

They are stressed out, and have all kinds of concerns, not knowing that they can build themselves up on their most holy faith by praying in the Spirit. Then there is the Believer who not only knows their rights but is benefiting from that knowledge. John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. They are looking to the Spirit for guidance.

Here are a few Covenant realities.

John 17:6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Do you understand the spiritual implications behind that statement? He (manifested) or revealed the Father as Jehovah Rapha when Healing was manifested through him. He revealed the Father as Jehovah Jireh when He fed the five thousand men, not including the women and children.

He revealed Him as Jehovah Tsidkenu the Lord our righteousness when He left hell after three days and nights and ascended to heaven to the presence of God. This covenant provides us with what we need and desire, this Covenant is a revelation from His heart to ours.

I will show you the difference between the way it was and the way it is. Ephesians 2:11-12 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands. That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.

We were destitute knowing nothing, having nothing, but then he sent Jesus. In Hebrews 2:10 it says that He brought many Sons to Glory. How awesome is that?

When you get some time, study John 17, it will bless your life. Let us look at a little bit of it. We have already mentioned he manifested God’s name to those men by healing, delivering, casting out devils, calming seas, raising the dead, and a host of other things.

Luke 7:11-15 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

This type of miracle is every day in the ministry of Jesus, but some do not understand that the same thing should happen in our lives as the Spirit wills. I will say it again, the same types of things should happen in our lives because of this Covenant we have with Him.

Matthew 14:25-31 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

The words little faith is talking about little in duration, and the word doubt is double in the Greek language, in other words, Peter had a second thought. When he walked on the water it was a supernatural response to Jesus saying come. Living supernaturally should be commonplace in our lives.
